Dr. Ryan Whitman, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Whitman was born in Utah, but his father was in the military, so he lived in Germany and Hawaii before returning to Utah. In middle school, Ryan and his family moved to McAlester, OK, where he attended high school. He then studied Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in 2008. For nearly six years, he practiced dentistry in Henryetta, OK. Dr. Ryan and his wife, Brooke, decided to move to Durango in January 2014 to raise their two sons, Austin and Logan. They also have two dachshunds, Toby and Jasper.
Dr. Whitman likes spending time outdoors mountain biking, camping, snow skiing, kiteboarding, listening to various music, and spending time with his boys working on “projects.” He is passionate about continually learning new things and enjoys staying up-to-date on the latest dental technologies and techniques. He is excited about the opportunity to serve your dental needs.

Samantha
Registered Dental Hygienist
Samantha became a registered dental hygienist in 2016 and joined the team at Durango Family Dentistry in 2022. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Service Administration from the University of Southern Indiana.
One of Samantha’s greatest joys is staying current on dental research and then giving her patients the tools and skills they need to improve their overall health by improving their oral health. She loves building long-term relationships with her patients and feels honored to work with the caring and compassionate dental team at Durango Family Dentistry.
When she isn’t working with patients, Samantha enjoys breeding chickens, gardening, and managing her family’s homestead.
Madeleine
Registered Dental Hygienist
Although Madeleine only recently joined the team at Durango Family Dentistry, she has been a registered dental hygienist since 2012, when she graduated from Concorde Career College. She takes her role of helping patients achieve and maintain their oral health seriously, and she loves nothing more than knowing she's making a difference in the lives of her patients. As a child, Madeleine had quite a bit of dental work done, so she was always curious about the process; her childhood dentist was the reason she decided to join the dental field. When she isn’t busy helping patients, Madeleine enjoys being outdoors with her dogs. She’s also proud that she can speak three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Danielle
Registered Dental Hygienist
Danielle has been an active registered dental hygienist since 1997. After graduating with honors and earning her associate degree in dental Hygiene from Pensacola State College, she immediately headed West. She fell in love with the state of Colorado while visiting during her college years and, in 1997, moved out west. Danielle has been in Durango since the summer of 2012. Her two extraordinary daughters and one incredible man have graced her life. Together, they enjoy everything outdoors, including climbing, biking, skiing, hiking, and river trips. Danielle has genuinely enjoyed caring for the fantastic Durango community at Durango Family Dentistry.
Rhea
Dental Assistant
Rhea was born in Littleton, CO, and moved to Durango in 1993. She played sports most of her life, with her favorites being basketball, volleyball, and soccer. She attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction and then went to the Colorado School of Dental Assisting. Rhea received her Dental Assistant Certification in 2010 and has worked in the dental field ever since. Rhea loves the outdoors and tries to attend as many Zumba classes as possible. She also likes spending time with her three dogs, Scooter, Dutchess, and Kloe. Even though they’re a handful, they bring her so much joy. Rhea is very happy to be a member of the Durango Family Dentistry team!
